Drug and alcohol rehab and Sauna detoxification in Ontario

Sauna Detoxification

The Turning Point daily sauna program, in combination with plenty of fluids and nutritional supplementation, produces extraordinary results by removing drug and alcohol residues from the body. These residues left unchecked can trigger future drug or alcohol cravings and depression.
Research has established that many types of drugs, such as cocaine, heroin, Valium, PCP, amphetamines (crank, crystal, meth, ecstasy, etc.) alcohol and medicinal drugs such as narcotic painkillers, tranquilizers, anti-depressants and sleeping pills, can remain in the body’s fatty tissues for years.
These residues can make it difficult, if not impossible, for an addict or alcoholic to achieve the desired outcome by triggering a variety of symptoms, including cravings and depression. Watch video testimonial.
At Turning Point, Naturopathic Physicians have developed protocols that combine vitamin therapy with sauna treatments to draw out and expel these residues along with environmental toxins. Completion of this portion of the program results in greatly reduced cravings for drugs and/or alcohol, or elimination of these cravings entirely. Mental alertness and clarity of thinking improve while drug-induced depression often vanishes.

Vitamins & Minerals

lifeSOURCE Vitamin Shake as part of drug rehab and alcohol detox process

Vitamin and mineral therapy is an essential component of helping to detoxify the body and rebuild physical systems damaged by the affects of addiction. The following outlines some of the key vitamins and minerals employed in the Turning Point detoxification protocol. Turning Point, in partnership with naturopathic physicians, has developed an exclusive blend of key nutrients and supplements to support the detoxification process, and to help rebuild and maintain healthy minds and bodies.

lifeSource

lifeSource is blended exclusively for Turning Point, a naturopathic compound of key supplements that supports detoxification and support well-being. Our blend is designed specifically to help those in recovery, and is available after treatment for all Turning Point graduates. Included in this blend are vitamins, minerals and powerful anti-oxidants including:

Niacinamine (Vitamin B3)
Niacin plays a key role in the detoxification process. Niacin causes "vasodilation", often called the niacin flush, which is the opening of the small blood vessels, the capillaries, to permit increased blood flows. This opening of the capillaries allows toxins to be more readily removed into the bloodstream from fatty tissues so they may be processed out of the body.
Although the niacin flush is sometimes alarming to people, it is not harmful or dangerous. It simply indicates improved blood flow. In addition to "flushing" of the skin, the toxin removal process often produces a byproduct, ‘histamines’, which may result in a sensation of itching.

B-Complex Vitamins
One of the key benefits of B-complex therapy is its impact on adrenal function, which produces hormones essential to a wide variety of bodily functions. Long-term drug abuse and alcoholism depletes the body of B-Complex Vitamins, forcing the adrenals to work overtime and become fatigued.
Also incorporated into the protocol are vitamins A, C, D and E.

Calcium/Magnesium
Calcium and magnesium are minerals that are essential to our well-being. Heavy use of drugs and alcohol strips our bodies of these important minerals. In addition to the benefits described below, calcium/magnesium therapy reduces stress associated with withdrawal.
Calcium is the most abundant mineral in the body. Calcium builds and maintains bones and teeth, it regulates the rhythm of the heart, eases insomnia, helps regulate the passage of nutrients in and out of cellular membranes, and assists in blood clotting. Calcium is also valuable in maintaining proper nerve and muscle function, as well as normal kidney function.
Calcium deficiency can result in arm and leg muscle spasms, softening of bones, leg and back cramps, brittle bones, rickets, poor growth, osteoporosis, tooth decay, and depression.
Magnesium, sometimes called the ‘miracle mineral’, is vital to more than 300 biochemical reactions in the body. It helps maintain normal muscle and nerve function, keeps heart rhythm steady, supports a healthy immune system, and keeps bones strong.
Recent research has also proven the importance of magnesium for enhancing the body’s ability to use calcium. Magnesium helps regulate blood sugar levels, promotes normal blood pressure, and is known to be involved in energy metabolism and protein synthesis.
Magnesium is vital for maintaining a healthy heart. Magnesium helps stabilize the rhythm of the heart and helps prevent abnormal blood clotting in the heart. Magnesium also aids in maintaining healthy blood pressure levels. Deficiency of magnesium can result in calcium depletion, heart spasms, nervousness, confusion, muscular excitability and kidney stones.
Other minerals employed as part of the recovery protocol include Iron, Zinc, Manganese, Potassium and Iodine.
